RALLY-O - A New and Exciting Course......
What is Rally?
Dog and handler team navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as, Sit Down Sit, Straight figure 8, Send over Jump, Recall over Jump, Left Turn and many, many more becoming more complex as you move up through the levels. Teams navigate the course at a brisk continuous performance without direction from the judge. Handlers are encouraged to talk to their dogs during the performance.
All dogs, purebred, mixed breed and dogs with disabilities are encouraged to participate.
Level 1 –
Level 1 is performed on-lead with the exception of Bonus Exercises #1 and #3. The handler may remove the leash for these exercises or may have the dog drag the leash. A Level 1 course consists of 10 - 15 exercise signs, exclusive of the Start and Finish exercise signs and the Bonus Exercise sign(s). Level 1 is divided into two classes: A and B. The A class is for teams who are working towards earning their Level 1 title. The B class is for teams that have earned their Level 1 title in the A class. Once a team has earned their Level 1 title in the A class, they may continue to compete in Level 1, but must do so in the B class.
Level 2 –
Level 2 is performed off-lead. A Level 2 course consists of 15-17 exercise signs, exclusive of the Start and Finish exercise signs and Bonus Exercise signs. Level 2 is divided into two classes: A and B. The A class is for teams who are working towards earning their Level 2 title. The B class is for teams that have earned their Level 2 title in the A class. Once a team has earned their Level 2 title in the A class, they may continue to compete in Level 2, but must do so in the B class.
Level 3 –
Level 3 is performed off-lead. A Level 3 course consists of 15 - 17 exercise signs, exclusive of the Start and Finish exercise signs and the Bonus Exercise. Level 3 is divided into two classes: A and B. The A class is for teams who are working towards earning their Level 3 title. The B class is for teams that have earned their Level 3 titles in the A class. Once a team has earned their Level 3 title in the A class, they may continue to compete in Level 3, but must do so in the B class.
